The countries that started vaccinating against covid-19 before the EU

The coronavirus vaccine had reached all EU member states. The vaccination campaign began at the end of December. Several countries had already started the immunization process.

China was the first country to start a reserved vaccination campaign against the coronavirus and prioritized those most at risk. More than a million doses of Chinese experimental vaccines have been injected in the country.

Russia followed the country. On December 5, it began to vaccinate workers at risk with the immunizing Sputnik V, developed by Gamaleya, the Russian National Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology.

The third country was the UK. It became the first Western country to license the vaccine developed by the US-German alliance Pfizer/BioNTech.

There, the vaccination campaign began on December 8, and more than 600,000 people received the first of the two doses.

In the West, the vaccination processes against the coronavirus began in Canada and the United States. They started on December 14, with the development of Pfizer/BioNtech.
