Apple’s next great tech news was absent at the event
This week, Apple had its annual launch event where it announced new iPhones, iPads, and Apple Watches. All of them represent refinements of earlier models.
However, Apple didn’t announce a new product. As Tim Cook says, this new product is Apple’s next great thing. Customers and investors hope it will be remarkably cool and make remarkable Apple growth.
In preceding years, Apple CEO Tim Cook highlighted their plan regarding the new technology that will impact. This new product is AR, which stands for augmented reality, a term for technologies using modern chips and advanced cameras. These features can allow users to experience the real world with the help of computer graphics over a screen.
AR and its future
Eventually, followers of this idea, such as Mark Zuckerberg, state that augmented reality technologies will be placed in glasses or a headset, representing a massive change for the industry.
But at the recent event, the company did not reveal its augmented reality technology except briefly mentioning that one AR app will be on iPads.
YouTuber Justine Ezarik brought up the lack of information about augmented reality technology in an interview with Cook at the launch.
In his response, Cook quoted some of the words he said about augmented reality technology at the event, saying he is a big fan of this new technology.
Cook said that in the future, AR technology would make them proud. He added that people would look back and say that they can not imagine themselves without this technology.
Cook also noted that they create AR technology mainly for educational purposes, collaboration, and shopping, for example, fitting furniture ensuring it matches the user’s home.
Cook added that these are initial ideas, and they will improve.
Apple has never approved that it plans to build headsets. It only bought several start-ups and hired employees to work on the project.
