Ukraine Stops Russian Armoured Unit From Crossing The River
According to video footage published by Ukraine’s military on Friday, Ukrainian troops damaged a pontoon bridge; moreover, they took down a Russian armored column as it attempted to cross a river in the Donbas area. A Russian navy ship was on fire in the Black Sea.
Russia has suffered blows on the battlefield as Ukraine pushes Russian soldiers out of the territory around Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city; the quickest progress since driving the Kremlin’s forces out of Kyiv and the northeast over a month ago. Ukraine currently controls an area spanning the banks of the Siverskiy Donets River, around 40 kilometers (25 miles) east of Kharkiv.
Ukrainian Airborne Forces Command showed several burnt-out military vehicles and pieces of a bridge partially submerged in the river. Many more damaged or abandoned vehicles, including tanks, were seen in the woods and along the river’s path.
The photographs showed that Russia had lost armored maneuver components of at least one battalion tactical group and pontoon bridge equipment while crossing the Siverskyi Donets river west of Severodonetsk, the British defense ministry stated in a daily intelligence report on Friday.
Russia Targeting Sloviansk Next
According to the British defense ministry, Russia is putting a considerable military effort south of Kharkiv, around Izium and Severodonetsk; therefore, this is in an attempt to break through to Sloviansk and Kramatorsk. The Kremlin described the Russian invasion of Ukraine on February 24 as a “special military operation” to demilitarize a neighbor who poses a security danger. However, it denies intentionally attacking people. Furthermore, Ukraine claims it is not a danger to Russia. The deaths of thousands of people and the destruction of cities and towns demonstrate that Russia is in an aggressive conflict.
Wives and relatives of Ukrainian fighters holed up at the Azovstal steel factory in Mariupol’s southern port; they bravely marched and yelled for their release in Kyiv. According to the British defense ministry, Russia is seeking a breakaway south of Kharkiv, between Izium and Severodonetsk.
