RIT supported by Rothschild co-leads funding Aspen Digital
The investment trust, RIT Capital Partners, founded by Jacob Rothschild, co-leads funding for Aspen Digital, a crypto investment platform. It intended to finance by creating an online platform that could give investors a portal to manage their crypto investments.
On Wednesday, Aspen said in a statement that RIT would lead the $8.9 million fundraising series for Aspen Digital, a Hong Kong-based platform with Liberty City Ventures. In the blockchain industry, Liberty City Ventures is considered an early venture investor.
Chief executive and co-founder of Aspen Digital, Yang He, told Reuters that this would fund the launch of the platform and its development in London.
Other investors include owners of Fortune magazine and members of Thailand’s wealthiest family, Chaval Jiaravanon and Chatchaval Jiaravanon.
Plans
Aspen intends to target asset managers and family offices in Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. It will cooperate with managers and offices wanting to have a portal to build a diversified crypto portfolio. The company plans to go live this year.
For crypto, investor enthusiasm increased this year. The study showed that eight out of ten investors plan to invest in digital assets in the future.
London-listed RIT invested in other companies related to crypto, such as the Kraken, U.S. crypto exchange. Jacob Rothschild continues to be the largest RIT shareholder with a 12.38% stake.
Aspen Digital intends to provide wealth managers and family offices with a crypto investment portal to take care of procedures, including counterparty risk.
Aspen plans to focus on three areas. The company will allow investors to buy and keep cryptocurrency. It also plans to invest in yield-generating products like stablecoin-backed savings accounts. Besides, it will offer strategies similar to strategies employed by various hedge funds. The company also plans to have a research department aggregating news in this market insights and sector. It would present this to customers so they can see what it could suggest for their portfolios.
